PASTOR

The pastor is responsible for using his gifts and talents in the proclamation of the gospel, the teaching of the word of God, charge of the spiritual welfare of the congregation and services of public worship, and to administer pastoral care in meeting the needs of persons in the church and community.  In addition, the pastor is also to provide administrative leadership for the entire church body.

 

DIACONATE

The diaconate members are servants of the church, whose primary responsibility within the church is to handle in the best possible manner according to God’s word, all concerns of the church.  They shall serve as a council of advice and conference with the pastor in all matters pertaining to the welfare and work of the church.  Along with the pastor, they are also to promote the continuous progress of the church in the areas of leading souls to Christ, the development of Christians, and the growth of the Kingdom of God.

 

TRUSTEE

The trustees shall hold in trust all property belonging to the church and shall take all necessary measures for its protection, management, and upkeep.  However, the trustees shall have no power to buy, mortgage, lease, or transfer any property without the specific vote of the church authorizing such action.

 

TREASURER/ASSISTANT

The treasurer is responsible for having custody of the funds of the church and all the deposits made in the name of the church, and all checks drawn by the treasurer/assistant shall be in the name of the church.  The assistant aids the treasurer in his/her duties or in the absence of the treasurer, fulfills his/her duties.

 

CHURCH CLERK/ASSISTANT

The clerk is responsible for keeping a complete record of the transactions of all business meetings of the church.  In addition, clerk/assistant shall keep a record of the names and addresses of all members.  With dates and manner of admission and termination, records of baptisms, and a list of those suspended.  The clerk is to preserve on file all communications and written reports pertinent to the on-going mission of the church.  The assistant aids the clerk in his/her duties or, in the absence of the clerk, fulfills his/her duties.

 

CHURCH SECRETARY

The church secretary is responsible for the general office work of the church in relieving church ministries of minor executive and clerical duties.  This office work includes secretarial duties related to the pastor’s ministry as well.

 

SEXTON/CUSTODIAN

The sexton is responsible for maintaining clean buildings and grounds, and for making minor repairs of the church’s facilities so that its components are ready for use for church activities.

 

MINISTER OF MUSIC

The minister of music is responsible for assisting the pastor in planning, conducting, developing, promoting and evaluating a worshipful music ministry.

 

DIRECTOR/DIRECTRESS

The director/directress is responsible for preparing the various components of the music ministry of the church in order to demonstrate and led the congregation in a worshipful ministry of music.

 

CHOIRS

The choirs of the church are responsible for assisting the congregation in praise and adoration of God through the singing of hymns, anthems, gospels, and spirituals.  Choirs are to assist the church in worship services, outreach ministries and special music services.

 

USHERS

The ushers of the church are responsible for keeping the sanctity of all worship services by having charge over the doors accessing into the sanctuary or meeting place.

 

OFFERING LIFTERS

The offering lifters are responsible for assisting the pastor in the collection of tithes and offerings during services of worship.

 

AUDIOVISUAL

The audiovisual ministry is responsible for transmitting the good news of Jesus Christ to all persons, both inside and outside the church, by way of radio program, cassette tapes/CDs and VHS/DVDs.

 

PASTOR’S CARE

The pastor’s care is responsible for supporting the pastor in various necessities of his welfare so as to eliminate undo stress and strain of family and personal commitments.  These necessities shall include the areas of finances, food, shelter, clothing, and spiritual intercession (prayers) in order to keep the pastor in constant contact and meditation with God in his responsibilities as pastor.

 

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Christian education is responsible for assisting the pastor in planning, coordinating, operating and evaluating all activities within the educational ministry of the church. 

 

CHURCH SCHOOL

The church school is responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating an educational ministry that promotes knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ for the entire church congregation.

 

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

The children and youth ministries are responsible for educating and orienting the youth of the church into fellowship and worship with other youth as they learn about the Christian way of life.

 

NEW MEMBERS’ ORIENTATION

The new members’ orientation ministry is responsible for instructing all new members into the life and mission of the church before receiving the right hand of fellowship into the church.

YEARLY WORSHIP ACTIVITIES/SPECIAL DAYS

The yearly worship activities ministry is responsible for assisting the pastor in planning, coordinating and evaluating all services of worship, special days, events and/or other activities.

 

NEW GENERATION STEPPERS

The new generation steppers create and perform dance and step routines set to music.  Through their gifts, they religiously educate the church and community and carry out the mission of witnessing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

MISSIONARY

The missionaries are responsible for witnessing the good news of Jesus Christ to persons of our community through benevolent giving and service.

 

SENIOR CITIZEN’S

The senior citizen’s ministry is responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating fellowship and various health and fitness activities pertinent to the needs of the senior citizens of our community through visitation, witnessing, or worship services.

 

TRANSPORTATION

The transportation ministry is responsible for transporting the membership of the church and community to their specific areas of service and/or church services.

 

CLOTHING

The clothing ministry is responsible for providing clothing to persons in our church and community who lack this basic, physical need.

 

FOOD RESOURCE

The food resource ministry is responsible for providing food and nutritious meals to persons in our church and community who lack this basic, physical need.

 

PRISON

The prison ministry is responsible for promoting Christianity as a corrective and rehabilitative method of helping those who are incarcerated as well as providing supportive care to their families.

 

HOSPITALITY

The hospitality ministry is responsible for supervising and operating the church kitchen and dining areas for all activities, functions, and fellowships of the church.
